My Review on iPong Topspin –
The iPong Topspin table tennis robot might seem inferior to the other robots available today, but the quality received is just suitable for the price. It’s one of the cheapest options available today in a table tennis training robot category.
Some robots, like the Butterfly Amicus Professional, cost close to $2,000! The iPong Topspin is on sale for less than $50. Therefore, you can’t expect the two robots to be anywhere near comparable.
It is an excellent recommendation for children or kids who don’t need the more advanced features. Thus, iPong Topspin should only purchase this if you look for table tennis robots for a recreational player or child.
It simply does not have the necessary elements to realistically aid in a player’s improvement at the succeeding stages and should not be purchased with the idea that it will.
If you want a professional-level robot that is not a burden on your pocket, then Newgy Robo-Pong 2040+ is the best choice.
The Y&T V-988 or Practice Partner 50 Table Tennis Robot is another robot you can check out that is slightly more expensive than the Newgy Robo-pong but is still a cheaper option to other professional level robots available in the market.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the table dimensions and weight?
The dimensions for the table are:
- Length: 12.5 x
- Breadth: 12.5 x
- Height: 9 inches;
And the table weighs 4.5 Pounds.
Does this only use batteries or is it an electrical plug-in also?
You can buy an AC adapter to use instead of batteries. The plug has to output 9 Volts and 2 Amps. Plug size is 5.5mm x 2.5mm and makes sure it is Center Pin Positive.
You can also buy a cord on amazon that works so you don’t need batteries. I got this SoulBay 12W Universal Muti Voltage AC/DC Adapter Switching Power Supply with 6 Selectable Adapter Plugs, Suitable for 3 V to 12 V Device on amazon and it works great.
Are balls not shooting at consistent speed?
If you have an iPONG Topspin check the batteries. Suppose you have the iPONG Original or iPONG Pro check to see that the A/C adaptor is plugged in all the way.
Balls are loaded but the rotating plate isn’t moving. What to do?
It can either be a manufacturing defect or because of overloading. Most of the time it’s the latter. Remove some of the balls from the top feeder.
Overloading the top with balls may be too heavy for the plate to rotate. If that doesn’t work then contact your seller.
Are the ping pong balls included? If yes, then how many?
No, it comes with 0 (zero) balls. You have to buy the balls separately, you can get practice balls quite cheaply but I opted to buy 100 3* balls from another supplier. It doesn’t hold any more than 100 so that is just the right amount.
It tends to retain about 5 or 6 balls at the end that don’t get fired so you do need to get quite a few to make it work properly. I would say that you should buy 50+ as a minimum.
Conclusion
In the end, the iPong Topspin table tennis robot is all said and done to meet the promise of no more wait for a training companion! More like a live competitor rather than a ‘playback feature,’ iPong Topspin robot can continuously blast more than 100 balls before needing a refill.
It models in minutes and never stops! Be the envy of the neighbors when they see this fun unit in action, or keep it as your secret weapon and let them wonder how you improved your game so fast!
Use IPong Topspin table tennis training robot for hours of enjoyment on any table tennis table. It’s an ingenious way to maximize the use of your existing table, and its modern, svelte design is gratifying and tailoring for any game room décor.
